ForPalestine is a bridge to Palestinian culture, crafts and history. Through direct trade with small producers and artisans in the West Bank, we support families and local communities – while bringing a small part of Palestine closer to you at home.
My name is Maria and I have taken over ForPalestine with a great desire to build on what has already been created and at the same time carry it forward with my own values and experiences.
I come from the NGO world, and through my other business, Green Living, I have worked directly with small producers in conflict areas.
I have seen how important emergency aid is when the need is acute – but also how big a difference direct trade can make in the long term.
Because when we trade directly, it's about much more than a product. It's about the people and the craftsmanship behind it. About creating income, preserving traditions and giving small producers the opportunity to continue their work and support their families.
And the circle doesn't stop there.
The profits from ForPalestine go to support projects in Palestine. In this way, we try to create our own circular economy, where your purchases first create trade and income – and then help finance new efforts and opportunities locally.
We will be able to support emergency aid when the need is acute, and work on more long-term and sustainable projects.
Sustainability and social responsibility mean a lot to me. Not only in relation to materials and the environment, but also in relation to people, working conditions and the value we leave in the local communities we work with.
